Our Story
My love of the breed started as a child. Mr. Jiggs, was the first small dog I had ever met. He wasn't our family pet, he belonged to my Great Aunt and Uncle. He was so pretty, so lively and so compact. To me he was a perfect companion.
Our family had small poodles while I was growing up, but none were "Mr Jiggs"! Once I had a family of my own, and lived a rural life, our dogs got bigger and bigger! All of a sudden one day I realized it didn't need to be a birthday to have cake, and I didn't have to do what I had always done! Ok, so that is an odd way to describe the moment I decided that I COULD have a Mr Jiggs of my own. So I started doing some looking and found my first Yorkie pup. As a puppy he didn't look anything like Mr Jiggs, but I knew his Gold would bloom and his Black would silver, and it did.
As an empty nester I spent hours researching the breed, and learned what to look for things I really didn't know when I got my first one. I ended up speaking to a woman who agreed to be my mentor to start breeding. She actually sold me some traditional Yorkies and walked through all the steps and stages of our first few litters with me.
I started with the "Mr. Jiggs" style traditional Yorkies then I was bitten by the Biewer bug about a decade later. I love the sweet silly nature of these tri-colours creatures. Now I am hooked on both!
